Brown Eyed Baker: A Baking Blog
My UBER talented sister, Michelle, runs www.browneyedbaker.com, a baking blog about all things delicious! Since she started this blog back in 2007, we have worked together on the look and feel, and I have been in charge of all of the graphic components. Back on June 1, 2010, she re-launched her blog with a brand new design and feel.
We took her old logo from this:

The idea was to move from a heavy graphical logo, to a more classic, simplistic look, which I think we achieved. Fast forward 6 months later, and she launched two new sections to her blog: Brown Eyed Baker: Unplugged and Steel & Ice by Brown Eyed Baker. Unplugged is a blog talking about anything non-food related, and Steel & Ice is all sports related, focusing heavily on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins. Her logo was incorporated in these two new brands as follows:

It was very important to keep her current brand of Brown Eyed Baker, but incorporate it with these two new sections on her blog. I have to say I really enjoyed working on the Steel & Ice logo. It was a lot of fun, and who doesn’t love Pittsburgh sports?
Along with the new logos came new color schemes, background images, side bar headings, and post breaks. All of these components are custom designed to her site, which allows the look and feel of it all to come together really nicely.
